THE FINAL COUNTDOWN

I have 2 more days of full time work left, and 4 days until I start a new job at Hillcrest in the Labor and Delivery area. Am I nervous? H yes I'm nervous. But not about the "new job". Well I take that back I am nervous about starting in a position that I virtually have zero experience in. But I am confident in my skills and ability to learn quickly. I am most nervous about working the night shift and my new co-workers. In school I worked a few night shifts. But not enough to really get a taste. The night shifts I worked left me feeling like I was in limbo and my body was screaming what in the H.E.double you know, are you doing to me?! So I'm hoping with a regular schedule and routine my body will say ... This isn't too bad. Or may ... I love night shift, stay in this position forever! As for the co-workers. I am in a position now where I know everyone, we joke, we laugh, we talk serious. Nobody in their "right" mind would give that up easily. In fact my co-workers now were part of the biggest reason I contemplated and contemplated leaving. And so all I can say is I pray that I'm not the newbie outsider for too too long.

With all nervousness set a side. I am WAY EXCITED! I am going to learn so much! And can't wait to feel some adrenaline! What am amazing gift it is to be able to bring a child into the world. I can't wait to see the joy on the new moms and dads faces. And... Although my insurance won't kick in until December 1st, we will have better insurance. They cover more and I'm hoping that working along side the doctors, that will be delivering our future baby(ies), we might be able to work together (me, doctor, and insurance company) in finding out what's going on with my DT parts. Update on that. I had a sona- histogram done. It came back normal. So next month I start Clomid and with a positive result I'll start Progesterone. Pray for Positive!

And so... I'm nervous but the excitement just about out weighs the nerves!

Remember fun facts of September, #2 I decided to be more creative and #3 I cleaned the house, from my last post? Well I have some updates on those.

#2 I got right down to it! I am never creative. In fact my creativity comes from steeling other peoples creativity! Is that even possible, to steel another persons creativity? Why yes yes it is. I did it and proudly! HAHA 2 friends of mine have these super cute shadow boxes in their homes. So I thought, well why not my home too? Unlike many other "ideas" I've had I put this one to work. I took the left over wood from our armoire (our last idea/project we have yet to finish) and drew up the plans for a 28in by 36in shadow box to hang on a wall in our living room. When Ethan came home from work I had the wood marked and all lined out for him to cut. I don't wanna brag but... He was totally impressed with my measurements. Over the next few days we hammered and screwed together the boards, sanded it down, and picked out a color to paint it. I can not even begin to express my excitement in getting this home project up! A big thank you to Lauren and Summer for their cute crafts ideas.

#3 I cleaned the house. Not only did I clean the house again, but I finally emptied and put away our suitcase from our trip to Eagar. Does it take everyone this long to empty their suitcase after a vacation? Party I feel this is because, 1) I'm not in anyway ever ready to come back from vacation. Sometimes Ethan and I are totally ready to sleep in our own bed but never ready to go back to work. And emptying the suitcase is a strong reality check that we have to work to survive. And 2) we are super lazy, I hate doing this simple task. Lets face it I've been back to work for 3 weeks now. As for Ethan... I'm pretty sure he's right there with me on hating to empty it. I know this because I definitely tried to push this annoying task on him. HAHA He saw right through me and we had a stand off on who would finally get sick of it sitting on the bed room floor first. Unfortunately for me he had a test to study for and I did indeed get the job done.

Changes

September has gone by fast!. Looking back at the last few weeks 10 things come to mind. Some little and maybe not so important things but none the less exciting. Others are so exciting your mind might explode.

Such as:

1.  We got really great news about my grandpa. He's been battling lung cancer for several months now. And after finishing radiation in June he had a follow up PET Scan at the beginning of this month. The results came back that the tumor in his chest had stopped growing completely! Through this whole experience my grandpa has been one to be reckoned with. When we visited them in March, he told Ethan and I that if this was going to be the way he goes, the angles, The Lord whomever it is that comes to get him is going to have to do just that... Come and get him. He has stayed optimistic, trusted his doctors and more than anything trusted in the Lord that He knows best. And that there's a plan so he is just gonna go on doing what he knows how to do best. LIVING! I love you grandpa and look up to you and grandma.
2. I have decided to be more creative! I have some extra wood and am going to make a shadow box out of it. Details to come
3. I did clean the house today
4. I made a much needed trip to Sam's club. Best part of the trip, getting a diet coke for the ride. I feel like it is my reward for going grocery shopping. Even though I LOVE GOING TO SAM'S CLUB. Haha. 
5. Ethan has also taken his first test in a couple of classes. He got a 100% on his Biology Lab exam. So PROUD of him!
6. Farley is gaining back his weight he lost while we were win Arizona. He was to chicken to feel comfortable eating in someone else's house. HAHA
7. Ethan has a part time job. He's helping my boss now remodel her bath room. I can't wait to remodel things in our own home! I'm grateful for my handyman
8.  I just realized I got paid 3 times in August!!!! What a wonderful blessing. I have such a huge Testimony of Tithing. Some may say well Jess you were just a ditz and should have been paying more attention to your finances. But I know this was an act of the Lord. And that's all there is to it.
9. Psych is Hilarious. Watch it if you haven't already. It's kind of a goofy show but it never ceases to make us laugh.
10. Drum roll Please.... After much contemplation, prayer and fasting. I decided to apply for a different position. One where I could learn more, one where a faster pace was involved, and maybe a bit of adrenaline. So I applied for an ER position at the neighboring hospital. I was diligent in calling and checking up on the opening, I made a point to shake the directors hand. But no such luck in the getting the position. They hired someone with ER Experience. So I took it with a grain of salt and decided that the Lord knows whats right for me. A month after applying for the Er position my friend tells me there is a Labor and Delivery position open. I thought about it for a couple of days, talked about it with Ethan, and decided to go for it. I called about the position Thursday afternoon thinking either I 'll catcher her right before she leaves for the day and have to continuously follow up like before or my voice mail will be the first thing she hears in the morning. It was the first thing she heard in the morning and I received a call requesting an interview. I set up to interview Monday morning at 10am. Things were happening so fast with this position. I was nervous yet optimistic. Trying to keep my cool. I told myself repeatedly the Lord has a plan. As I interviewed I became more and more excited about working with laboring parents and helping them welcome their precious bundle of joy into the world. I was able to tour the unit and then with much surprise was offered the position on the spot. I start October 4!

Family Filled Fun Fest

It started when I got off of work on Tuesday August 30th. Ethan and Finished our last minute packing and headed out the door. It was 9 o'clock PM and we were about to make an excitingly long drive. I say exciting because we had been counting down the days to our trip for like 2 months! I say long because it was exactly that... LONG! Being that we probably wouldn't have slept at all that night anyways we might as well get on the road. I lasted about an hour in the car before I fell asleep. I had just worked 6 of the last 7 days and was over come by exhaustion despite the excitement. Ethan on the other hand had taken a long nap and pretty much sang the whole way! LOL We stopped in Childress for gas and agreed it would be a good spot to catch some "good" shut eye. After all it was 2:30 in the morning. And as married folk we rarely stay up past midnight! 6:30 am quickly came and we were on the road again. We expected to reach our destination by 1 Arizona time. We made a couple of necessary stops along the way to get gas, snacks, and of course to pee. Farley can't seem to hold his bladder like we can. HAHA just kidding. The excitement grew as we reached albequerque and were now only 3 hours from home.

As we pulled in honking up a storm, expecting to be greeted with lots of open arms... We weren't! HAHA Only Whitty came out. It little time we were reunited with the rest of the family and soon to be brother in law, Stuart.

Wednesday- That afternoon we just hung out with family and relaxed. That night I headed off to Kortney's Bridal Shower. While the boys hung out and vegged on cookies chips and sodas. The Bridal Shower was wonderful! It was filled with yummy food, lots of laughs and of course Embarrassment! Kortney was as red as a rose by the time it was over.

Thursday- The chaos really kicked in with the arrival of my Dad and TJ. Before they got to the house the girls, Kortney Whitley, Camry and I headed into town to get Kort and pedicure and supplies for later that afternoon. When we returned home Camry gave Whit and I a mini make-over. I got my horrible haircut fixed and then colored. And Whit added some color as well. Might I add that we both looked fabulous afterwards.

Friday- Wedding Day !!! Everyone was up by 5:30 or 6 to get ready for the day. I was over come with joy for my sister in law. She was finally about to get what she and little Elly deserved. A righteous Priesthood holder that would take them through the Temple. I balled the entire time we were in the Sealing room. It was just as perfect as the Days Ethan and I were Married and then later Sealed. I was reminded over and over again that Families are Forever. And the Lord has a plan for each and every one of us, so long as we hold true to what we know. I know that Stuart and Kortney were chosen to be together. How wonderful it was to celebrate their new Eternal Family together as an Eternal Family.

Saturday- The chaos was at its all time high! Between everyone being in the same house at the same time, TJ and Camry packing to leave, Ethan and I packing for the camping trip, and the little ones wanting to ride the horse. We barely survived! It was awesome and scary all at once. So we took things outside. Ethan had told little Elly and Stuarts little sister that he would take them on a little horseback ride on the horse he broke and rode for years and years. The fact that Ethan didn't have his saddle should have been our 1st clue. Clue number 2he didn't have his bridal or reins, and Clue number 3 Twister probably hadn't been ridden in at least a year. Unfortunately none of these clues registered in anyone one of the 8 people watching. Twister was good trotting around briefly but as the minutes went by she became more and more fussy. Ethan getting frustrated decided to ride her around a little more and show her who is boss. On his way back he slid of the side of her and landed his tail bone right in the edge of a small ditch. Nearly passing out but eventually coming to he got back on the horse, literaly speaking. He began to ride her around someone this time she acted "right." Some of the clues started to register but not fast enough. Stuarts little sister wanted another go on the horse. Luckily no one was hurt to badly when Katy and Ethan slid off again. Finally all the clues registered! What a lesson we all learned there. After the horseback riding excitement died down we said our for now good byes to TJ, Camry and Kyrie. The headed up the mountain for some quality gun shooting and camping. It was most excellent to be able to spend some time with my dad in the mountains. It was sad not having my mom around too though. Hopefully she'll make it down to Texas for a visit.

Sunday- We said good bye for now to my dad who had to make the journey back to Colorado. After a hardy pancake and bacon breakfast the Anual Waite Family Horseshoe Tournement began. Sad to say that none of the Eagar representatives made it to the final round. But Dad Eagar gave them a run for their money making it to the semi finals. Go Dad! It was to bad he didn't win seeing as it was his Birthday. Better luck next year! Sunday night Ethan and I spent quality time with the family, sitting around talking and telling stories.

Dreaded Monday! The day we had to pack up and leave for reality. We did make the best out of it though. We stopped in Safford/ Thatcher to See my Aunt Linda and our good friends Jerome and Shanna Whetten.
